CIMC launches Website During First Stakeholder Program

Consultative Implementation and Monitoring Council Launches Website During First Stakeholder Engagement Program

The Consultative Implementation and Monitoring Council brought together partners from the government, civil society organizations, the business and development partners in its first stakeholder engagement event for the year.

The small but significant event was held on Friday January 30, 2026 at the Crown Hotel which also coincided with the organization’s website soft – launch. It highlighted CIMC’s ongoing

efforts to re–engage with its existing and new stakeholders to promote impactful partnerships.

The event was an opportunity for CIMC and its partners to reflect on their journey and achievements as a collective body representing various sectors in the country.

In her welcome remarks, the Executive Officer, Mrs Wallis Yakam described the event as a digital breakthrough and represents more than a networking opportunity.

“For 28 years, our foundation has been built on dialogue and inclusiveness. Today, we translate those values into a modern, accessible interface. Our new website is not merely a "virtual reality"—it is a strategic entry point. It features an interactive online forum designed to capture sectoral insights and critical feedback on the developmental issues facing our country. We are moving beyond one-way information sharing toward a collective voice that informs policy formulation, reviews, and implementation”.

She concluded by reminding everyone present that our strength lies in our synergy - whether we represent the government, private sector, media, civil society or development partners, our role is indispensable.

Also speaking during the launch was the Executive Director for the Institute of National Affairs, Mr Paul Barker who gave a brief background on how CIMC was established, its journey and milestones over the years.

“This website soft launch is a significant achievement for an organization that has been working behind the scenes for more than two decades bringing together representatives from different stakeholders as per its mandate to provide a national consultative policy dialogue platform for citizens to participate in government policy development and implementation. The website contains resourceful information and we hope that the public makes use of this platform”.

Officiating the soft – launch was the Director for the National Research Institute Dr Osbourne Sanida who commended CIMC for being instrumental in the country’s development through its mandate and platforms.

He said the partnership between CIMC and NRI is very important and valuable as the information and findings that CIMC tabulates from its consultations is often used by NRI.

“Due to funding issues, sometimes we use the findings that CIMC collects and analyse and provide recommendations. This collaboration is vital and we look forward to more collaborations, not just between CIMC and NRI but as a collective body from different sectors to meet the needs and wants of our people, whether it’s plans, policies or laws”.

Note: The website is being launched under the current domain name (www.cimcpng.com)  and this is temporary. The CIMC has recruited an IT support officer  under its graduate development program who will assume additional role as Digital Transformation Officer (DTO) and this person will liaise between CIMC and the Department of Information and Communication Technology on compliance issues regarding  Digital Government Act 2022 and for the change to the domain name  www.cimpng.org.pg in compliance with NICTA requirments.

The website features a modern design, improved navigation, and user-friendly functionality, making it easier for visitors to access information, resources, and services. Key highlights include:

Ø Streamlined navigation for an improved user experience

Ø Mobile-friendly design ensuring accessibility across all devices

Ø Expanded resources and updated content for stakeholders and clients
