Editor’s Note

Hi everyone, welcome to the third edition of our 2017 Paitim TalkTok Newsletter. This version carries stories of the major CIMC activities over three months of the third quarter of this year.

Most of what is highlighted was undertaken by the CIMC Secretariat’s various Sectoral Committees working to facilitate stakeholder participation and discussion on sectoral issues, how they impact society and what measures can be taken address the issues.

As a consultative dialogue platform the activities undertaken by the CIMC Committees are focused on working with government agencies and stakeholders from civil society and the private sector to discuss how sectoral issues can be addressed collectively.

Issues discussed are around; agriculture, the extractive sector, climate change, infrastructure development, sectoral policy and strategy development.

The CIMC is not an implementing agency but a dialogue platform that facilitates for stakeholder discussions and to get them to find solutions or agree on certain approaches that can be taken as a way forward.
