January _May 2018
Editor’s Note
Hi Stakeholders, welcome back to the first edition of our 2018 Paitim TalkTok Newsletter. The beginning of this year was quite busy for CIMC and so we were not able to bring to you updates on CIMC work for the first quarter.
However we have incorporated all activity stories into this issue attempting to cover the events between January and May this year.
Importantly we bring to you updates on the National Planning Summit hosted by the CIMC and the Department of National Planning (DNPM). The Planning Summit is the first of its kind in the country organised and held to get wider multi sectoral input to the government planning process, particularly the MTDP3 20182022. You will also read about what the government wants to prioritise according to Alotau Accord 2.
The CIMC now has a new Chairman Hon Richard Maru after he became the National Planning Minister taking over from Hon Charles Abel who left the Chairmanship when he was appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Treasury.
Most of the stories/information comes from the Planning Summit with others related to CIMC Sectoral Committees and the Secretariat.
You can also read about work done by the CIMC Sectoral Committees and their views on sectoral policy legislation and smooth implementation.
Hope this issue of the CIMC Paitim Talktok with the information contained is appreciated as usual.
