Editor’s Note

Hi Stakeholders, welcome to the fourth and final edition of our 2018 Paitim TalkTok Newsletter. We thank our partners, supporters and stakeholders who have supported and worked with us throughout the year. Especially the European Union (EU) through whose support the CIMC concluded the National Development Forum and other ground breaking activities.

The immense support and collaboration of other stakeholders also enabled the CIMC to achieve its planned activities as highlighted in our earlier newsletters.

The final quarter of the year was again busy for CIMC taking part in many activities and programs through the Sectoral Committees. So far the CIMC is content with the activities undertaken during the year; some of them have been ground breaking including the NCD Public Transport Users and Providers workshop hosted by the Transport and Infrastructure Sectoral Committee.

The transport workshop is seen as the catalyst to change the way public transport is provided and used in the city. The CIMC will play an integral part in the process to reform the public transport system in the city in 2019 and onwards.

The National Informal Economy Audit survey was completed with involvement of the Informal Economy Committee (IEC) in partnership with the Department of Community Development, Religion & Youth (DfCD) and other partners. CIMC was an integral partner in this important project and we look forward to continue in the New Year.

We will continue to bring to you information on the work of the CIMC in 2019 and we hope this issue is informative as usual on the work of the CIMC and its Sectoral Committees.

Since this is our last newsletter for 2018 we wish all our supporters, partners and stakeholders a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2019.
