Editor’s Note

Dear valued partners and stakeholders, welcome to the combined (third-fourth quarters) edition of our Paitim TalkTok Newsletter which carries information on CIMC work during the two quarters (June-November) of 2021. This year has been very challenging for the CIMC to fulfill its core requirements due to the upsurge and increased impact of Covid-19 in the country.

The importation of the Delta virus further impacted on planned activities bringing them to a standstill.

Although faced with severe limitations, CIMC was able to conduct some activities including Sectoral Committee meetings and participate in stakeholder and partner organised workshops during this period.

Some work was done in three provinces by the Governance and Service Delivery Sectoral Committee through a partnership consortium led by World Vision International to strengthen Elementary Education in selected schools in Madang, Central and Morobe provinces.

We were able to successfully launch the project in all the schools and have seen some positive outcomes from this project as well.  CIMC also participated at meetings and workshops organised by partners including Government departments.

Given the uncertainty around Covid-19 and the need to live the “new normal” CIMC will endeavour to bring further updates on our activities in the new year during which time we expect to pick up some momentum on more activities which will be availed in the next edition.
